Our 2025 prom queen has finally been announced. Heaven Gonzales pulled off the highest popular vote and won Kennedy’s prom year 2025. Gonzales is a senior at Kennedy and plays varsity Volleyball and Varsity Softball. Gonzales never had interest in prom queen and king until her junior year.
“I ran for prom queen for the experience and the memories to kinda get out my comfort zone, the process of getting to be prom queen it was pretty nerve-racking, but also exciting at the same time.” said by Gonzales
Running for prom queen was very nerve-racking and a challenge for Gonzales, however she was ultimately committed to it. She started getting the word out a month before prom and Kennedy halls were filled with posters running for prom queen. By the week of prom, the name Heavan was known throughout the whole school.
“The strategy I used to gain the popular vote was to put my name everywhere then pass out little candies then the next week, I had a bunch of sweet treats.” said by Gonzales
The behind the scenes of running for prom was also time consuming. Gonzales spent a lot of effort running and campaigning for prom queen. Winning is not easy, but Gonzales earned it. While taking the extra steps and giving out sweets and treats her votes were rising, she was gaining her popularity.
“I did go to prom, the experience at prom was good and the vibe was great. Winning prom queen made me feel great about myself and happy because I wasn’t expected to win but also hope that I would end up winning” said by Gonzales
In the end, Heaven Gonzales’s journey to becoming 2025 prom was a leap outside her comfort zone. Her victory not only reflects her dedication and creativity but also the support and admiration of her peers at school.
