Demon Slayer
The anime Demon Slayer is an adaption of the manga titled the “Demon slayer” made by Koyoharu Gotouge During 2016-2020, The first season of the anime ran from April 5, 2019, to September 29, 2019. Yet many fans of demon slayer haven’t seen it, the most recent movie “Demon slayer: infinity castle arc” came out on September 12 ,2025, bought in a ton of new fans to the franchise yet most haven’t watched the show yet. This review will help explain where the main characters come from and their motivations Because the Infinity castle arc will be a trilogy movie series.
Main Characters:
Tanjiro Kamado: Tanjiro is a kindhearted character who cares about people more than himself. The reason why he becomes a demon slayer is because of the Demon King named Muzan Kibutsuji, who is responsible for killing most of Tanjiro’s family and turning his sister Nezuko Kamado into a demon. This is why in the movie; Tanjiro wants Muzan dead more than anything for the things he has caused.
Nezuko kamado: Even though Nezuko wasn’t mentioned much in the movie, she is the most important character in the show because they state “Nezuko is the only demon to conquer the sun” meaning unlike the rest of the demons, she cannot be burned by the sunlight. This puts a huge target on her because Muzan wants to conquer the sun to cause more chaos.
Zenitsu Agatsuma: Zenitsu is kind of a joke character. When he was first introduced but overtime the viewer got a preview of what he is capable of. He’s somewhat of a joke character because when he sees a girl, he wants to marry them so basically a ladies’ man. During the Movie though, His whole character changes due to his master’s death, His master was named Jigoro Kuwajima and due to one of his students turning into a demon, he was saddening enough to end his own life out of guilt. This student was named Kaigaku, He was Zenitsu’s rival up until he turned into a demon.
Inosuke Hashibira: Inosuke was Tanjiro’s rival somewhat, even though Tanjiro saw him as a great friend, Inosuke would still try to fight him. Inosuke grew up on the harsh mountains which is used to explain some of his feats like moving his oragans, somehow. Before the beginning of the movie Inosuke was just eating food til he was brought into the infinity castle.
Plot of the Movie:
The plot of the movie happens very fast yet it’s enough for you to understand what’s going on. It takes place right after season 5’s cliff hanger, when all the demon slayers get forced into the infinity castle with the architecture shifting to separate all the demon slayers away from each other. This is where wat breaks out because this was part of the leader of the demon slayers plan, The leader is named Kagaya Ubuyashiki and right before every slayer was brought to the castle, He sacrificed himself to give the slayers a chance to take Muzan down. Now the demon slayers must adapt to the castle’s ever-changing architecture and defeat the army of demons, the high-ranking demons, and the demon king himself, Muzan kibutsuji.
Opinion about the movie:
Overall, this movie was great as a Demon slayer fan that has been watching this series ever since 2021 Around the time Mugen train arc Finished. The animation was beautiful and left me shocked because the budget was 20$ million, yet in less than 2 weeks they were able to make 200$ million off this movie. The wait for this movie was worth it because they delivered something great that was in the making of 2 years. The most shocking thing is that this is the first movie out of three movies of infinity castle arc, so there’s much more content to come soon and I have high hopes for the next movies. The only problem I had sometimes with the movie was the other characters not getting much screen time like the Hashiras but from what I’ve seen from the manga, they will play an important role in the next movie. Besides that, this movie is a must watch if you want to see the most amazing animation, beautiful storytelling, and emotional moments.
