If you’re a Spurs fan, I’m sure you’ve heard the news of the De’Aaron Fox trade. The Kings traded De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs in a 3-team deal also involving Bulls guard Zach Lavine, Spurs guard Tre Jones, center Zach Collins, forward Sidy Cissoko and Kings guard Kevin Huerter.
It seems year after year the San Antonio Spurs continue to build a team worthy enough to have more than a decent record and the ability to make the playoffs. With De’Aaron Fox joining the Spurs, he brings many things to the team such as speed, athleticism, playmaking ability, scoring, defense, and leadership.
NBA fans and fans of the Spurs believe the new Spurs now have potential to be contenders. I say “potential” because with Victor Wembanyama’s season cut short, the Spurs must rely on their players to play through the season without their usual big man. Wembanyama’s absence will also affect the dynamic duo he was going to have with De’Aaron Fox, which many fans were excited to see.
Even though Wembenyama’s absence will have its effects, De’Aaron Fox adds multiple needed elements to the Spurs to make them an overall more competitive team.
