This 2025-2026 school year has been very different at John F. Kennedy High School in many different aspects. Many can say there’s been improvements, but others say that some changes haven’t exactly been the best.
One of the things that changed for the better than most can agree on is this year’s pep rallies. Pep rallies this year are actually considered fun and enjoyable for most students this year, especially for the seniors that have won the spirit stick three times in a row.
A pep rally is held for every home game the football players have, and to show them that the school supports them. This October nine is beyond special though because it is not just a basic pep rally; it is going to be the Pink Out one that raises awareness for breast cancer. It will start at 3:15 p.m. and it will be hosted by the senior class.
Senior Marina Zapata shared her excitement by saying “I feel like these past ones have been more exciting so I’m just happy I get to attend to them and be part of them.”
The JFK rockets dance team and cheer team got together to make this pep rally even more special by coming together and creating a routine. At every pep rally they each have their own minute dance, but this time each one is performing their own choreography, and one with both groups. Which shows how our community has joined together to symbolize unity and hope for this event.
